Trudy Nearn is the firm's founding attorney. She is also a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law as certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to her law degree from the University of California Hastings College of Law, Trudy has earned a Master of Laws in Taxation degree from Golden Gate University. Trudy and Generations were showcased in a feature Sacramento Business Journal article called "Estate Fate." She was quoted extensively in Comstock's magazine in the article "Death and Taxes", "The Wizards of Cause", "Life and Taxes" and "Estating the Obvious."
She is a frequent contributor to the Sacramento Bee and was featured in their “Ask the Expert” weekly column. Trudy has also been quoted as an estate planning expert in news publications such as Money magazine and ABC World News Tonight.
Kate Swain is a graduate of California State University, Chico. She received her Juris Doctorate from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Kate's area of practice is estate planning, trust administration and business planning. Kate is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council, the South Placer Estate Planning Council and Sacramento County Bar Association: probate and estate planning section. She was named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers®. Kate has been quoted in the Sacramento Bee. She lives with her family in Loomis.
Mike Bennett's practice areas include probate administration, trust administration and estate planning. He earned a business economics degree from University of California , Santa Barbara and a law degree with tax concentration from McGeorge School of Law. He is a member of the Sacramento Estate Planning Council and serves as its Annual Meeting Chairman. He enjoys doing presentations for non profit organizations and financial professionals. Marsha Holland is the Director of Referral Services for the firm. She is in contact with financial professionals throughout the Sacramento metro area and is responsible for all marketing projects for the firm. She earned her degree in marketing from California State University, Fresno . She is a member of the Resource Alliance Professionals, Older Adult Coalition and attends various financial professional group activities.
